Anecdote-a-Day Archives

September 22nd, 2008

The summer came to an abrupt end wherein the instability of the weather certainly carried over into the more material things such as the stock markets.

Yet their whimsical resemblance to how mother nature plays with temperature or the puffy clouds that hang over just as you embark on a picnic is an all too familiar episode where one can hear the diabolical laughter of Gaea herself embedded within the fluctuating maelstrom of stocks over the entire world economy.

It's comical - though tragic at the same time - to witness the turmoil one feels as they watch their effortless "earnings" drop in a frenzy of weathered formation just as the avid beach-goer watches the tides crash upon their sought space of solace in the sun.

People have had a relatively easy ride over the last few years - making money out of practically nothing. But is this easy fortune merely an illusion - or delusion, mind you - or is it simply a way of the unwritten ethereal rules stating that you've had too much, and now it's time to give back?

People these days expect everything for nothing; they become childish when they do not get their precious way, and it makes one want to give them a bottle, bib and make a warm spot in a crib, as that's where a good portion of these people belong.

Heaven forbid someone doesn't get what they want! Weren't we told when we were young that you don't always get what you want, and to never beg nor scream when it does happen that way?

Why don't these growing adults ever take these words seriously? No wonder there's a growing surge in "Daycare for Seniors."

"A tragedy is a representation of an action that is whole and complete and of a certain magnitude. A whole is what has a beginning and middle and end."
