Our organizations are being
too practical rather than philosophical and analytical.
If you were to take a look
at the last twenty years, you'll notice a shift from conventional contemplative
business practices to all-out blinding practicality hell-bent practices
that has everyone out for themselves.
Because of some unwritten
rule saying that says we must abandon all humanity in order to make
the dollar has taken over the way we operate business. It's causing
the human race (or at least the Western civilization) to devolve into
a cesspool of primordial consequences.
What used to be an amicable
environment is nothing of the sort. Any business venture that starts
out for the first time builds a strong internal and customer base, offering
lush services at incredible prices. Staff go out of their way to please.
But once the push for profit
takes over, and the business starts cutting services, relinquishing
some benefits or refusing to give pay raises while giving the management
team a hefty pay raise, that's when it starts to get ugly.
Turnover rates begin to
skyrocket. Job dissatisfaction becomes a factor and staff are more willing
to not put out their best in this type of scenario, nor are they willing
to build partnerships. . It becomes a renegade operation as it's pretty
much everyone for themselves.
So why are businesses running
like this? A good majority of those who are still level-headed take
the time to contemplate the entire picture before going gung-ho into
profit-making shenanigans.
You'll notice that some
of the biggest companies, like Manulife, have not once announced staff
cutbacks or downsizing initiatives. According to an inside source, they
cherish their people and communicate to staff that they will never lose
their jobs.
Now that's an environment
that thinks philosophically - analyzing it for what it is, yet extending
itself beyond the blind practices the rest of the corporate herd tends
to follow.
Take a moment to stand out
from the rest. You'll notice how much more glorious it is to not be
stuck in that same defiling routine as the rest.
