Everyone remembers a specific
date commemorating a special event or happening. But how many
of us commemorate special events at work?
Career anniversaries are
the means by which we recall those unique changing events during our
stints at a specific office or company - be it accomplishment of a big
company project, nearing bankruptcy but remembering the day that all
changed, or the upgrade to a newer location.
Each holds a special part
in our hearts and we use these as "saving spots" to mark them.
It's the fundamental aspect of culture that can bind a group together
even stronger than before, for times of crises help forge alliances
and partnerships like nothing else ever seen.
Even celebrations of newborns,
marriages of colleagues and their respective spouses or the graduation
from a pristine institution all count as memorable events to happen
within a functioning business unit or tightly-knit company.
Establishing a unique organizational
culture contributes to the human factor that essentially spurns high
cohesiveness and performance. Each of the members knows that everyone's
connectivity is not restricted to false pretenses as normally found
in business environments, but is genuinely formulated on solid human
foundations.
Thus it is perceived in
a more natural manner, and the people will respond accordingly.
The end result is a solidified
workforce that prides itself in being human even in places of professional
practice.
