It's the middle of the summer.
Have you accomplished any of what you wanted to accomplish by the end
of the season?
We always tend to make big
plans and when we do, it often results in prolonged procrastination,
stating the "wide gap of time," or "Ahh, it's only the
start. I have a few weeks left to go. No sense in working when there's
plenty of time available," speech.
But this Friday is the first
of August. How much you want to bet that you have only started a meagre
portion of headway into that big project or workout regime you've been
clamming about for the last few months?
It's like this at work.
We're all given tonnes of projects or we have our own performance-based
objectives to accomplish. How many of us actually put in the effort
is questionable, and it leads to a long road of stress, depression and
pressure that should never have happened in the first place; it cancels
out the entire concept of bettering ourselves in this manner!
Instead of taking the car
to work, opt to take transit, then walk. Or offer to stay a few minutes
later and make a good start on that project that was due two days ago.
In the end, while everyone
else is freaking out over their last-minute projects, you'll be sitting
there, feet on table and hands behind the head with that "I told
you so" look in your eyes.
